In ensuring that open budget becomes a reality in Imo State, the Citizens Center for Integrated Development and Social Rights, CCIDESOR has moved to collect over 1000 signature petitions from citizens of the state.
The German Ambassador to Nigeria, Bernhard Schlagheck has charged Journalists and Non-Governmental Organizations in Imo State to increase their advocacy and awareness on good governance.
Speaking when he visited the office of the Citizens Center for Integrated Development and Social Rights (CCIDESOR) in Owerri, Imo state on July26, 2017, Schlagheck noted that there is need to begin to ensure that good governance which will bring change of economic situation in the state and the entire southeast, stressing that when he visited the Governor of Enugu state, Ugwuanyi, he saw massive real developmental projects going on in the state. He said he came to Imo to study the governance narratives, with aim of making improvement.
In an effort to ensure increased awareness on open budget and its relevance in the development of any society, CCIDESOR in the company of its Citizens Accountability Assemblies-CAA from Ohaji/Egbema and Oguta LGAs have taken further steps to facilitate massive demand for Government transparency and citizens participation in budget process by engaging the women during their annual August meeting.
