The Citizens Center for Integrated Development and Social Rights, CCIDESOR has set out to carry out third round of abandoned project monitoring to ascertain their level of completion.
The first level of abandoned project monitoring/mapping which was done in 2014 had about 121 capital projects mapped by 129 partners across six local governments of Obowo, Ahiazu Mbaise, Isiala Mbano, Ohaji/Egbema, Oguta and Ngor Okpala spanning through the three senatorial zones of the State around Health and Education.
The Executive Director of CCIDESOR, Obidi Mgbemena noted that a review of number of projects identified as abandoned for an up ward of three years from 2010 to 2014, revealed that about 121 capital projects were mapped, adding that out of the 121 capital projects, 32 were completed without quality, 51 projects were ongoing/uncompleted, while 34 projects were abandoned. He hinted that about 4 projects were not identified nor started as at 2014.
He noted that the third round will ascertain the level of completion especially that the current government is coming to an end, adding that reassessment will enable the organization know which areas need more campaign for completion. He decried the level of projects sprouting up without completion and urged that the current government puts more effort in that direction.
